Position Summary
The SEM (Paid Search/PPC) Manager participates in all aspects of clients' search media campaigns, including initial planning, implementation, monitoring, optimization, analysis and reporting. The SEM Manager will create successful campaign elements based on an understanding of our clients' business and customers, execute them accurately and efficiently, analyze performance and provide optimization ideas, evaluate strategic opportunities and develop strong relationships with clients through effective communication.
Skills, Requirements & Responsibilities
* Contribute to overall strategy and execution of client SEM efforts.
* Act as primary client point-of-contact for all SEM related projects.
* Provide daily account service to assigned partner and client accounts, including interaction via phone, emails and direct contact.
* Identify new revenue opportunities within existing accounts, and participate in winning that business.
* Assist in development of search media plans (research, strategy, keyword targeting, content development).
* Research client websites with understanding of online goals and objectives. Develop keywords and phrases relevant to business model.
* Develop advertising copy / messaging adhering to both client brand guidelines and search engine specifications.
* Interact with clients as needed for approvals and/or revisions.
* Collaborate with technical team the implementation of codes onto URLs for effective tracking and return on investment (ROI) measurement.
* Contribute to top-tier recommendations for optimizing campaign architecture, bid rules, ad copy testing, landing page conversion, and portfolio mix.
* Provide analysis of client reporting and optimization ideas to SEM and Media teams.
* Assist in generating weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports for all clients, and ability to recognize and troubleshoot data anomalies.
* Assisting in monthly and quarterly media billing reconciliations.
* Participate in and complete continual training and professional development as detailed within department.
* Maintain an understanding of industry trends and research industry related media.
Education/Work Experience
* 5+ yrs overall experience preferred including:
o 5+ yrs experience within interactive marketing with at least 3 years dedicated to search.
o Experience working in a cross-departmental/agency environment a plus.
* Familiarity with one or more bid management systems (Omniture Search Center, DART Search, etc) is required.
* Experience working in a cross-departmental/agency environment a plus.
* Excellent relationship management skills with an aptitude for mentoring and training.
* Needs to be a strategic and tactical thinker.
* Must have experience and knowledge in keyword research, keyword analysis, competitive analysis, and online media in general.
* Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to leverage data to drive strategy and decision making.
* Highly organized and great attention to detail. Excellent communications skills.
* Very strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office software.
* Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving.
* Familiar with Search research and performance tracking/rank reporting tools.
* Excellent verbal and written communication & presentation skills.
